Hello,

I am getting into head tracking and want to start with freetrack. I bought a PS3 Eye but I had difficulty removing the IR filter and destroyed it:(. So I was wondering what inexpensive (<10) webcams have easy to remove IR filters? :helpsmilie:

Do not remove it at all. New PS3 Eye camera works well with 800nm IR LEDs. Simply adjust brightness/contrast and enjoy.

would these LEDs work? (This is what I have) https://www.amazon.com/Infrared-Lighting-Electronics-Components-Emitting/dp/B01BVGIZGC/ref=sr_1_10?keywords=100+pack+ir+leds&qid=1553168618&s=gateway&sr=8-10

Thanks

I destroyed my first Eyetoy also. I took a cheat chinacam and screwed the lens array into the Eyetoy. For headtracking you dont need a perfectly clear and sharp picture, the cam just needs to localise the light points. I call it Frankencam now.
