Pitool not picking up Vive base station

I have a vive base station with green light on but Pitool cannot connect to it. How does the base station talk to Pitool ?

I set my frequency to A. There is a button on the back of the unit that cycles through A, B, or C. You can see the letter from the front.

 

You also need SteamVR (I'm pretty sure) do you have that?

Ok thank you. I’ll try channel A. I do have SteamVR, but the base unit hasn’t registered in Pitool nor SteamVR.

Try disabling the lighthouse tracking in PiTools to get rid of blue screens if you have them. Then run room setup. To get the trackers to work you need to have steam vr and the headset needs to bet about 2 meters from the lighthouse.

Disabling the lighthouse tracking allowed the headset to finally track. I was surprised at this as I thought Lighthouse tracking meant enabling the vive base station to be see by the headset, but what did I know ?

 

Now, to figure out why everything is so jittery on my new 1080Ti... more detective work !

You need to enable MSAA to get rid of the aliasing.
