escaner
This weekend I was flying as RIO and the launch button never got illuminated and I could not fire the AIM-54/7 as I was doing in previous sessions. My pilot had no problem firing them. Anything changed in this regard in the last patch? Thanks! 104th_Maverick
No, its been used extensively by the 104th in our trainings yesterday and we've not had any issues. For the RIO to launch the ACM switch must be in the CLOSED position in the front seat. The Pilot must also be in A2A mode with the Phoenix selected. Double check that this criteria was met next time you test it sir. escaner
Thanks for your reply, Maverick. I checked ACM guard DOWN (on the left), Master ARM ON (on the right), and Phoenix selected (PH in my tactical display). Reviewing the footage (luckily I recorded it) I notice A/A is also engaged for the HUD, but in the MODE/STP switch, the lower light is illuminated... that is Boresight, right? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
104th_Maverick
but in the MODE/STP switch, the lower light is illuminated... that is Boresight, right? No sir, this switch needs to be in the NORM position for the RIO to have launch auth in the back seat. Activating the ACM cover or the Boresight switch will mean only the pilot can fire the weapon.
