ArcLite Posted April 27, 2019 Posted April 27, 2019 (edited) Hey guys, I'm relatively new to DCS and lately nearly every mission I fly the program is crashing. Might be before I even take off, might be when switching to weapon view, might be on my way back to land over open ocean...Doesn't seem to be associated with anything in particular. I've attached my crash and game logs (FYI, I only fly in VR). Seems to happen much more with the A-10C than with the F/A-18C. Here's some system info and what I've tried already: i9-9900K @ 5.0 1080ti 11GB 32GB RAM Oculus Rift Using VoiceAttack w/ latest version of Vaicom Pro A-10C Mods: Bummer's cockpit textures, Strobe brightness reduction -Updated to latest Nvidia driver -In Device Manager, un-ticked "allow computer to turn off this device" for all USB ports -In BIOS, changed DRAM Freq from 3200 back to AUTO -In Windows Defender, made sure firewall allowed DCS and DCS Updater full access -Tried running DCS "as administrator" I've been reading all the posts in here and am about out of ideas. Maybe try "repairing" DCS? Is there a way to do this without resetting all my game and control settings? Any help is appreciated. EDIT: Two missions in a row now DCS dumped when watching a CBU in weapon-to-target view right before/as it explodes. Mission before that, is was while sitting on the runway editing weapon profiles. Still not sure what to make of this...Log.txtCrash.txt Edited April 27, 2019 by ArcLite i9-9900K | 1080Ti 11GB | 32GB DDR4 | TM Warthog | Oculus Rift S | gametrix JetSeat F/A-18C | F-16C | F-14B | A-10C | F-86F | P-51D | P-47D | Spitfire | Fw 190A-8 | Bf 109K-4
ArcLite Posted April 27, 2019 Author Posted April 27, 2019 Also, here's my settings, if that makes a difference: i9-9900K | 1080Ti 11GB | 32GB DDR4 | TM Warthog | Oculus Rift S | gametrix JetSeat F/A-18C | F-16C | F-14B | A-10C | F-86F | P-51D | P-47D | Spitfire | Fw 190A-8 | Bf 109K-4
FragBum Posted April 27, 2019 Posted April 27, 2019 Says the DX device got removed did a quick search there doesn't seem to be a definitive "reason" for it. Looking at your logs it may also be an error in your mission perhaps due to a comparability issue with your DCS version. Check your Windows version and DX version I'm runing DX12 and Windows 10 Pro 1709 and stable version of DCS okay. Heres what I got with. https://www.google.com/search?q=DX+device+removed.+Reason%3A+0x887A0006&oq=DX+device+removed.+Reason%3A+0x887A0006&aqs=chrome..69i57.1682j0j9&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 Also this comes up a lot. The blurb here indicates it could be a timing issue between calls and response from GPU,.. IDK. Control is an illusion which usually shatters at the least expected moment. Gazelle Mini-gun version is endorphins with rotors. See above. Currently rolling with a Asus Z390 Prime, 9600K, 32GB RAM, SSD, 2080Ti and Windows 10Pro, Rift CV1. bu0836x and Scratch Built Pedals, Collective and Cyclic.
ArcLite Posted April 28, 2019 Author Posted April 28, 2019 I appreciate you taking the time to respond, FragBum. I looked into the things you mentioned and kept diving down more forum rabbit holes and trying different things. That said, what ultimately fixed my problem was NOT OVERCLOCKING MY GPU. Some guy mentioned in one of the threads that his crashing stopped when he just ran his card at stock throttle. Interesting that DCS has some kind of bug going on here, being my OC is plenty stable (proven in other games and stress tests). Anyway, thanks again. Just wanted to post this in here in case it helps someone else out. i9-9900K | 1080Ti 11GB | 32GB DDR4 | TM Warthog | Oculus Rift S | gametrix JetSeat F/A-18C | F-16C | F-14B | A-10C | F-86F | P-51D | P-47D | Spitfire | Fw 190A-8 | Bf 109K-4
