TrackIR faulty Z -axis

Hello...

 

I've had TrackIR for many many years but today it has been acting funny... the Z axis (zoom) is very very jumpy, or inaccurate... first i thought it was scattered sunlight from outside maybe but it was not that... If i look the camera view in TIR software, the right reflector goes sometimes from green to red, while all the other stay green all the time. Visually the reflector seems OK tho..

 

Do the headpiece wear out? Any home made tips to enhance it? Thanks!

Yes I had a issue after some years where the headset would loos track turned out the reflective part lost its reflectivity..

 

 

I went to Walmart in the camping section and bought some reflective tape they had turns out it is the same as what is on tracker clip.. after that all my problems where solved..
