DD MM SS.ss cannot seem to be entered in HSI

When I try to enter DD MM SS.ss in HSI>DATA>PRECISE, I cannot seem to do so. I have no problem entering the 8 digits when I use the JDAM>PP>UFC, but cannot seem to do so if I want to use TOO and waypoint data.

Am I doing something wrong?

First you need to go to the A/C page on the HSI and change the coord type to Lat Long Sec, then go to WYPT page and box PRECISE and then enter your degrees, minutes and seconds, enter, then your hundredths of seconds, enter again.

Thanks for the correct method, " 4 digits, hit enter, then do the last 4." works great. Where is the original source of this info?
