sobe Posted June 13, 2019 Posted June 13, 2019 I am a little confused on the different coordinates located at the top left and lower right on the SA Page. Is the coordinates on the top left from BE to the location of the Cursor? Is the coordinates on the next to last line on the lower right from Ownship to the Cursor? Is the coordinates on the last line on the lower right from BE to the location of the Cursor? If so, how does that differ from the coordinates on the top left? Grim Reapers hour long video on the SA page was very good but it left me a little confused on the above. backspace340 Posted June 13, 2019 Posted June 13, 2019 How do you make an *hour* long video and not cover the stuff that's displayed on the screen?! Anyway, it's answered here: https://wiki.hoggitworld.com/view/F/A-18C#SA_Format
sobe Posted June 13, 2019 Author Posted June 13, 2019 Never realized that site existed. Its like an up to date manual for the plane. However, I am still a little confused on what is the difference between the SA upper left coordinates and the last line on the lower right. Upper left description: When an A/A waypoint is designated, this displays the bearing and range from the A/A waypoint to the TDC cursor. and the last line of the lower right: if an A/A waypoint is designated, this is the trackfile's bearing and range from the A/A waypoint or "bullseye" (BE). Upper left if you have a WP set as bullseye is the distance and bearing of the cursor in the SA page to the bullseye The lower right is when you have the target cursor over a track file (target), it is the targets distance and bearing relative to bullseye. This allows you to call a contact to friendlies using BE as a reference and they can use then the BRA top left to confirm they are looking at the same target. sobe Posted June 13, 2019 Author Posted June 13, 2019 noisy_lightning On the upper left, is it from BE to cursor or cursor to BE? I am still having a problem getting my head around the difference between the upper left and lower right. On my SA page the numbers were 216 for 33 for the upper left and 215 for 34 for the lower right. Virtually the same. Jak525 Posted June 13, 2019 Posted June 13, 2019 Both numbers are FROM the BE. Upper left is FROM the BE, TO your cursor. Bottom right is FROM the BE TO the track under the cursor.
sobe Posted June 13, 2019 Author Posted June 13, 2019 Now I understand. Thx.
