MiG21 no ATC communication using easy comm

What is the trick to communicate with tower of Airport when using easy comms in the MiG21? I can talk to my wingman and get respond but no answer from ATC. I use easy comm. Do I have to change between UHF/VHF in any way or something? Not sure if this is a bug or not.
