JDAM target designation

Is there a way to visually designate a target for the JDAM via HUD or HMD? Eg like the AUTO mode?

I think later we'll get HUD and HMD TGT designation via the A/G radar and/or LTD/R, meaning yes, that will be possible by simply using Target of Opportunity mode.
