oldpop Posted June 23, 2019 Posted June 23, 2019 I there a min altitude for the canister to open? I set the HT to 300' and it burst open at about 1000-1200?
launchedsquid Posted June 23, 2019 Posted June 23, 2019 I'm not doubting you, just looking to confirm something, the HT is set to 300ft and you intend it to burst at 300ft AGL? and are you determining the burst using F6 view and seeing the altitude at 1000ft-1200ft MSL? or am I wrong and you were you expecting and doing things differently?
ricktoberfest Posted June 23, 2019 Posted June 23, 2019 I seem to remember on Wag’s first video him talking about not being able to change burst height yet. You’re supposed to set it to the default Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I5 3570K @ 4.5Ghz, 16Gb DDR3 @ 2400, Vega64 @1080p
oldpop Posted June 24, 2019 Author Posted June 24, 2019 launch, from the weapons view! expecting it to burst at 300AGl if that is what I have set new question! Is there a relationship (if using a WP as tgt) between the Wp set altitude and Tgt altitude???
FlyingPritchard Posted June 24, 2019 Posted June 24, 2019 My understanding, at least with other cluster munitions, is that the burst height is set on the ground(Which we can't edit yet) and in theory on the aircraft, the setting is to help the targeting computer. The point being is that you can't change the burst height and it should be set to default.

That's true for the Rockeye which are dropped from dumb pylons, but it might not be true for the JSOW - it's on a digital pylon, so the plane can talk to it (as you can see by us setting PP missions etc). Might be possible for the fuze to be changed in-flight.
oldpop Posted June 24, 2019 Author Posted June 24, 2019 I know they will open at higher altitudes (10000'+_) set in pit'. I thinks Wags said " it is set at default of 1500, lets leave it there". I can also get them to open around 900'.

This could mean the same limitations apply; fuze setting set on the ground. Though someone please correct me if i'm wrong. To your picture, we don‘t have the A-1 version with the BLU-111 warhead (which is just a Mk82 with a different type of explosive) but the original A version with the BLU-97/B cluster bomb submunition.
