RogueSqdn Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 I posted on this subject at the Virpil forums, but I thought it would be appropriate here on a different side of the coin... With the new throttle coming without detents, I wonder if the VPC software is capable of simulating a finger lift. By this I mean: During normal operation, the throttle axis should be limited to an arbitrary value (let's say 85% for sake of argument). However, if a desired button is pressed (in my case, physical buttons 2 and 8 ), the throttle should be able to increase to 100%. The same should be available at the idle end of the throttle as well (let's say 5%). Of course, this can be done in DCS F/A-18C with the built in finger lift commands, but what about all the other aircraft in DCS? They're left out. Which is where the VPC software comes in. I could achieve this in TARGET, but I'd rather not go down that route if I don't have to. Does anyone have knowledge enough of the VPC software to know if this can be done? I currently use an MT-50 (v2) throttle, but am trying to prepare for the new one. I decided to go ahead and pre-order rather than wait on the upgrade program, primarily because I didn't want to have to ship my throttle off. So with that said, are there any plans to add finger lift commands to other aircraft in the sim directly? While it may not be strictly realistic for certain aircraft, I feel it's a necessary concession along the lines of the "Realistic TDC" option on the Hornet. RogueSqdn Posted July 2, 2019 Author Posted July 2, 2019 I still think this would be a good option for all DCS aircraft due to all the different throttle options out there... But Virpil has put out a new firmware today that lets you limit the travel (forward and back) of your throttle axes, and turn off the limit by either holding a button, releasing a button, or using a button as a toggle. https://forum.virpil.com/index.php?/topic/706-finger-lifts-in-software/ DEFENSOR FORTIS Spoiler Systems: Falcon NW Talon: Ryzen 9 5950X @4.9GHz, 64GB DDR4, RTX 3090 FE; Falcon NW Mach V: Core i7 3930K @3.2GHz, 32GB DDR3, GTX 1080 FE Cockpit: MonsterTech MTX F, 42" 4K TV, HP Reverb G2, Oculus Rift S, PointCTRL Controls: RS F16SGRH CE, RS F18CGRH, VPC T-50CM2, VFX, WarBRD (Grips); VPC T-50CM2, RS FSSB R3L (Bases); Winwing F/A-18C, VPC T-50CM3, VPC T-50CM, TM Warthog, Cougar (Throttles); VPC ACE2 (Rudders)
ReaperMadness Posted July 5, 2019 Posted July 5, 2019 I'm with you RogueSqdn. I've got the Virpil throttle on the way, and I'd really appreciate having a simulated finger-lift option. But I'd prefer to do it through DCS rather than have to mess with my throttle outside of the sim. Just my two cents if anyone at ED is reading :)

RogueSqdn Posted July 5, 2019 Author Posted July 5, 2019 I’m running that new one already, Sokol. I wish it would operate more like the internal one where you only have to hold it when moving. The options now are on, off, or toggle. I’m using toggle so I don’t have to hold the button down.
