gulredrel Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 Hello, I'm new to the C-101CC and would like some clarification. Does the decision height annunciator light work on the attitude indicator? I did several approaches but no setting on the decision height seems bring that light up. Radar altimeter is working correctly and gives me the height information above ground. Do I need to set the flight director into approach mode or how should it work? Thanks Jens
Vibora Posted July 12, 2019 Posted July 12, 2019 It should. WIP. Thank you. Roberto "Vibora" Seoane Alas Rojas [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
gulredrel Posted July 12, 2019 Author Posted July 12, 2019 Thanks for the reply. Like that underpowered tiny EB thing, takeoff roll at Groom Lake seems to last forever ;)
Vibora Posted July 28, 2019 Posted July 28, 2019 Thanks for the reply. Like that underpowered tiny EB thing, takeoff roll at Groom Lake seems to last forever ;) Functionality of decision height annunciator light done (as well as rear cockpit GA annunciator light, which was only working for front cockpit). Wait for next update. Regarding underpower: are you setting full power with stabilized parameters before releasing brakes? That makes quite a big difference, it takes several seconds to stabilize a jet engine from idle to full power. Roberto "Vibora" Seoane Alas Rojas [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
gulredrel Posted July 29, 2019 Author Posted July 29, 2019 Thanks for the update, great to hear. As for the power, fully loaded with fuel, the EB needs some time on the ground. Same for the L-39, they are eventually no point defense fighters. :D Really like this. Great addition to DCS world. Thanks for the continuous support and updates.
gulredrel Posted September 2, 2019 Author Posted September 2, 2019 Functionality of decision height annunciator light done (as well as rear cockpit GA annunciator light, which was only working for front cockpit). Wait for next update. Hi Vibora, I updated last week to 2.5.5.34864 stable. Did some flights with dive bombing and noticed the following and couldn't find anything explaining the behaviour in the manual. I set the DH to 750 ft. During climb above 2000 ft AGL, the DH annunciator light was off between 750 ft and 2000 ft. As soon as the radar alt reading switched off, the DH annunciator light came on. Diving down the light goes off between 2000 ft and 750 ft and illuminates as expected at 750 ft. Is it expected for the light to illuminate above the maximum radar altimeter height? Nevertheless, great that it's working now. Will try to shoot some low visibility ILS approaches. Thanks Jens
Vibora Posted September 2, 2019 Posted September 2, 2019 Will check it, thanks for the report. Roberto "Vibora" Seoane Alas Rojas [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Vibora Posted September 2, 2019 Posted September 2, 2019 Fixed and committed to ED (Radioaltimeter DH light will not illuminate now above 2000 ft). It will most likely appear in next open beta update. Roberto "Vibora" Seoane Alas Rojas [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
gulredrel Posted September 2, 2019 Author Posted September 2, 2019 Hello, thanks for the fast response. I did my bad weather approach, see image below. One thing I noticed, the light stayed on after shutting down the engine and switching off the battery power (note to myself: Don't find quirks and bugs after closing time, you do this all day at work :D Better enjoy what I got.). Regards Jens
Vibora Posted September 2, 2019 Posted September 2, 2019 One thing I noticed, the light stayed on after shutting down the engine and switching off the battery power I can't reproduce this. After shutting down the corresponding electrical system (secondary DC bus, that is, bus tie switch to off or battery switch to off) the light goes off, like all other cockpit instruments lights. Can you provide the exact steps? Roberto "Vibora" Seoane Alas Rojas [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
gulredrel Posted September 3, 2019 Author Posted September 3, 2019 Thanks, will try to reproduce next time and remember the steps.
Vibora Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 Nice, thank you. Roberto "Vibora" Seoane Alas Rojas [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
gulredrel Posted September 3, 2019 Author Posted September 3, 2019 Hello, so I did a quick test and looks like the light stays on with power off. Steps to reproduce: - cold and dark than ground start - all power on, generator on, bus tie on, battery on - radar alt power on - DH set to zero, light is off - DH set to greater value than zero, light comes on - all power off: bus tie off ,generator off, battery off --> light stays on, all other avionics are off - it's more pronounced if the internal lights are turned on Thanks Jens
Vibora Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 Still can't reproduce it. If I switch electrical off, the light goes off. Maybe there's a specific sequence that triggers that situation. Could you make a very short track, on the ramp, with static airplane (not taxiing, taking off or flying)? And increase a bit more the instruments lights knob, so that we are sure the light is on. gulredrel Posted September 4, 2019 Author Posted September 4, 2019 Hi Vibora, here you go. trk file and that same sequence as mp4 file, in case the track does not work on your end as well as the dcs.log. C-101CC_DH_annunciator_light.trk C-101CC_DH_annunciator_light.mp4 DCS log Regards Jens
Vibora Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 Thanks again gulredrel. Fixed, will appear in next update. Roberto "Vibora" Seoane Alas Rojas [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
gulredrel Posted September 6, 2019 Author Posted September 6, 2019 Thanks for the fast responsetimes and ongoing support.
Vibora Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 Thanks for the fast responsetimes and ongoing support. Welcome. Roberto "Vibora" Seoane Alas Rojas [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Vibora Posted September 7, 2019 Posted September 7, 2019 BTW, also added radio altimeter switch functionality, which was missing. Roberto "Vibora" Seoane Alas Rojas [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
gulredrel Posted September 8, 2019 Author Posted September 8, 2019 Ah, thanks. So I guess the digital readout of radio altimeter at the bottom of the attitude indicator gauge should only be on if the radio altimeter switch is on. Details are getting better and better.
Vibora Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 It shows dashes if the radio altimeter switch is off. It is blank when it's not energised. Roberto "Vibora" Seoane Alas Rojas [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
