Rhinozherous Posted July 5, 2019 Posted July 5, 2019 Hello! I wanted to trie the new functions regarding ALT. I selected ALT, then PUC - when I push ON/OFF it never shows OFF, it only shows ON or nothing on repeated pushes of the ON/OFF button. Tried it with just blank, still gave me PULL UP warnings. Tried it without the : sign left of PUC on the ODU, still gave me PULL UP warnings.... is this bugged? Or can anyone explain me how this works? Thank you! i7-14700KF 5.6GHz Water Cooled /// ZOTAC RTX 4070 TI Super 16GB /// 32GB RAM DDR5 /// Win11 /// SSDs only DCS - XP12 - MSFS2020
Zeus67 Posted July 5, 2019 Posted July 5, 2019 The PULL UP warning is not controlled by PUC, which is the PULL UP CUE when dive bombing, but with the GPWS option. Click the ODU button that shows GPWS until the semicolon is not visible. Be warned that the GPWS will be disabled for 20 minutes only, it will automatically enable itself after the timer has expired. Thank you very much for enlighten me! So, thats the reason why we can enter a number to PUC i guess. i7-14700KF 5.6GHz Water Cooled /// ZOTAC RTX 4070 TI Super 16GB /// 32GB RAM DDR5 /// Win11 /// SSDs only DCS - XP12 - MSFS2020
Zeus67 Posted July 5, 2019 Posted July 5, 2019 Thank you very much for enlighten me! So, thats the reason why we can enter a number to PUC i guess. Yes, that number is the altitude above the ground for which the cue must be aware of. The PUC does not appear at the selected altitude. It appears 9 seconds before you reach that altitude. It appears below the VVM and starts climbing towards it as you approach the selected altitude. When it reaches the VVM you are at the selected altitude. The PUC is used so you can plan your pull up and not go below the selected altitude. In other words, you must start climbing when you see the PUC move.
