RDDL405 Posted July 27, 2019 Posted July 27, 2019 Hey everyone, I just have a few questions regarding the autopilot uses and modes. In the manual, it shows the switches and gives a description of what they're supposed to do, but it doesn't give any information on how it's done. Let's use the heading hold switch; how does it work? Does it let you actually set the heading bug and the autopilot flies towards your bug? Same with altitude hold; it works just barely, it doesn't equal out your altitude, its more of an advanced attitude hold. I'm wondering if I'm doing anything wrong or if the autopilot is more of a way to ease controls from the pilot. I know the A/P is able to fly the aircraft with ACLS lock on, so can it fly itself. Can it do this in cruise?
