Icebeat Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 (edited) It could be nice to be able to adjust the cockpit's mirrors rotation angle so we can use it to watch our six and not to paint our lips. This is dramatically important in VR where we can not press a key to magically turn head 180 degrees like in 2D. Note: The current implementation has the z axis inveted, if you get closer to the mirror the image becomes smaller and when you get further away the image becomes bigger, in the real world it is the other way. Heh, what's interesting is some of the actual fighter pilots that post here (and elsewhere) say that IRL at the moment, mirrors are basically used for the latter and to check control surfaces + formation flying, and not actually used when in combat. But still, the current mirrors in DCS are quite useless. Also, in VR, the reflection is 2D, and quite distorted in some models, like F/A-18C, making it even more useless...... However, I guess to create 3D mirror reflection is harder and could cost much more hardware resources. Having said, it would still be very nice to have a usable 3D reflection, even if it comes at a later stage. i9-9900K, G.Skill 3200 32GB RAM, AORUS Z390 Pro Wifi, Gigabyte Windforce RTX 2080 Ti, Samsung 960 Pro NVMe 512G + 860 Pro 1T, TM Warthog HOTAS, VKB T-Rudder, Samsung O+ F/A-18C, F-16C, A-10C, UH-1, AV-8B, F-14, JF-17, FC3, SA342 Gazelle, L-39, KA-50, CEII, Supercarrier Preordered.
