Ice_Pick Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 Hey, I'm getting a used oculus rift ( Thanks Bond 42!) and want some advice setting up the sensors. I want a play area that I can move around in but also want to be able to play DCS and Elite dangerous at my desk. For DCS you have to constantly look down into the pit so I don't know how that changes the setup. I have a 50" TV on my desk. here's a link to my room measurements: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ZPZWju4DX9ScXVR3tLEc34bpyvShB_9hCQEgu9KRPAs/edit?usp=sharing. any advice is much welcomed. thanks DCS A10C / DCS Black Shark /DCS F-14/Persian Gulf map/ Nevada/huey/gazelle/f18/f16/ajs37/harrier/A-4 16gb 2400 RAM / Ryzen 5 3600 / ROG Strix RX 570 /750W thermaltake PSU [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
fitness88 Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 (edited) My left sensor is 16" below my head, the right sensor is 16" above my head 3 feet away at 45 degrees. The left sensor is aimed toward my chest and the right sensor toward my head. After trying several different setup positions this captures all my movements very well. Perhaps having this further away will accommodate both of your needs. Tweaking the final positions is advised if you use Oculus VR hand held devices. Edited August 19, 2019 by fitness88
