jerky camera movements

Hello :smartass: i did some testing with FRAPS because i want to make a video soon so i found out i can record fraps with a 30 fps and AA on 4 and AS on 8 :thumbup: and it wont drop from 30 is what amazes me. but i have a question, no matter how smooth i try to move the mouse it always plays back as being jerky or apears as if there is lag :( so do you movie makers not move the mouse as much or how do you do it? do you have a high DPI mouse? is that what fixes it? thanks for your help in advance :smilewink:

I think you can change the mousesmoothing or something in a configfile, I canґt find it though, but maybe Glowing Amram do? I do have the same problem. I rather not use the mouse..Also try pressing "shift J". Makes the cam "jiggle joggle". Cool effect! :thumbup:

Hie,

you can get the shake effect :

- in game with shift+J

- By using crop in Vegas

- By using a camera layer linked with a null animated layer (wiggle(6,6) for example) in After effect...

 

I'am not an expert of video edit, so there must exist a lot of other ways.

 

I recently learn the great combination of F2 view to place the cam in Lockon and the you press Ctrl+F3 and the cam stay in place and follow the aircraft...

Lotham, i dont think he is talking about "camera shake". It seems he is talking about "mouse panning", or "looking around" with the mouse.

 

Well, i use the "Logitech G5" mouse. I have 2 buttons on it that lets me select the sensetivity that i desire. It can be VERY sensetive, or very slow.

 

With this, i also edit some small "parameters" within Lock On.

 

Look for the following file:

 

...\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\Config\View

 

and open "View.lua".

 

Scroll down til you find these settings:

 

"ExternalMouseSpeedSlow = 0.4

ExternalMouseSpeedNormal = 1.0

ExternalMouseSpeedFast = 10.0"

 

Those are my current settings for the mouse in external views.

I don't remember the default values, but i simply lowered the values quite a bit. By half, or a little more.

 

Play around with the settings, and i'm sure you'll find some good settings that suits you and makes it easier to do pans with the mouse. :)

thank you GA that was exactaly what i was wondering :D how is your mouse? does it have a high DPI or does DPI really matter for just panning around? i will defiantly check those settings out thank you :)
