Information about Navy Pilots

Hi all,

 

I'm trying to find out the finer details about US Navy pilots. I wonder If others could give me some detail on a typical day at sea (There Brief, how many sorties a day etc)

 

Also what Is a Navy pilots role In peace time / war?

 

All centred around F-14s / F-18C
