D3adCy11nd3r
Title Kind of says it all, but I would also add the loss of STT targets in open skies that is much more aggravating since he usually looses them right after a aim 54 launch. Is there a way to counteract his incompetence?
Banzaiib
it's not his fault... it's entirely possible they are flanking you, and thus the notch filter makes them disappear. They may also be turning cold, and if they're not + or - 100 kts compared to you, they'll disappear. Try switching to ground stabilized mode to see their true direction (will show if they're flanking on data link). In aircraft stabilized mode, you see only their relative velocity, not their actual heading. Also, get below them. The AWG-9 does not like ground clutter. It's very hard to break a pulse lock if you're below them, even if they flank or go cold.
lunaticfringe
With MLC filter on, the gate is more than double the stated size. The problem is that you're shooting in STT with the filter. If you're below the target such that the angle of elevation is 3 degrees, the filter is automatically deactivated. Shoot in TWS if you want range with no target response. Ignition
My biggest problem is when I have a STT lock and tell jester to decrease the range on the TID he losses the lock. The lost of contacts on TWS and RWS may be due to a number of factors. Closure rate, MLC filter (even on open skies if the radar is below 3° it may be enabled), scanning elevation and azimuth (jester doesnt try to maintain the targets on radar). Don't forget pulse doppler modes are always stabilized to the horizon. Edited September 18, 2019 by Ignition

Belphe
Shoot in TWS if you want range with no target response. How do I make Jester cycle the TWS targets so that I attack the one I want? Never say never, Baby! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Banzaiib
How do I make Jester cycle the TWS targets so that I attack the one I want? that would be sweet, but you need a human RIO for that... no such Jester function yet. A human rio can hook a target then re-order the launch priority.
