Gierasimov Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 I guess I can very well fly Hornet there but is the size of the map a lot smaller than other maps? Wali763 Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 Hi. The map is actually smaller than other maps. I often fly there with the Tomcat. With the Hornet I tend to have problems with landing, since the runsways are a bit short and the brakes of the Hornet are, well, ....... You need to be very precise Id say. I think, there are only two concrete-runsways (on the french side), the rest is plain soil, but that does not make a difference actually. Even the map is often criticized for its poor performance low down and the shimmering of the treea, I do like it quite much, since the scenery is very nice, especially when the sun is low. The shimmering can be avoided by going to 2x Supersampling (1,5 wont do for me), but for that you need a strong video card.
Gierasimov Posted September 19, 2019 Author Posted September 19, 2019 Thanks, Wali763, I run DCS on max settings in 4k resolution anyway so I think it should be OK performance-wise, I use Stennis for my landings anyway. As for dirt landing, I know that Hornet interaction with the ground is not yet implemented, but as said, I use the carrier anyway. Thanks again.
