Hi guys,

Just a quick question re clean up and repair. Is this something that should be done every so often or is it only needed when there's a major issue? I've never done either and my DCS is on a separate SSD with nothing else whatsoever on it. I also run no mods.

Just whilst there's several conversations regarding reduced performance since the last couple of betas I thought I'd ask the question.

Thanks...

Hi

generally a cleanup and a repair is only needed if you experience problems.

Deleting the fxo folder and metashader2 folders in your dcs saved games location can also help some users seeing issues. DCS will generate new one's when launched.

Unofficial mod users should always remove their mods and run a cleanup and repair when they see problems also.

Renaming your DCS folder in your saved games location is another way to resolve problems. DCS will generate a new one on launch and then settings and user mod issue's can be ruled out here as well.

I usually just delete the things in the FXO and metashaders2 folders within the Saved Games folder with each update.

C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\Saved Games\DCS beta stable etc.

The only time I need to do a clean or repair was on the server lately?

Not sure why, it came up "Client Is Tainted". Something with a graphic file.

The only other times is when I build a new pc. Copy DCS back and do a clean and repair then launch.

Hi mate, thanks for your reply...

Deleting the FXO and Metashaders2 folders is something I do anyway so all good re that.

I'll leave things as they are as it's running spot on just with a few minor issues I've noticed since borrowing a friends Rift S back in early June. I just didn't know whether a cleanup or repair was maybe 'good practice' but I've got no major issues so I'd rather not mess things up.
