Guest tx_rx Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 Hi there, Been playing lomac without FC for years now decided to get a Disc copy of FC 1.1 gold. So I removed everything, installed all nice and clean the 1st Lomac CD then the second disc of FC 1.1. I can run FC 1.1 no probs (with the 8800 GTX shadow restrictions et al) but every time I try to install the Lockon Gold ENG 1.12b Patch it always gives me "Error Code number 2" and refuses to install. I'm at a real loss here, I'm using a nice clean XP Pro SP2 install system etc and everything else seems ok, just can't apply this patch to remedy the stuttering multiplayer issues etc. Any help is much appreciated. TXRX -------------------------------------------- Rename the lockon.bat file to saved_lockon.bat file and create a folder called lockon.bat Run the patch and it'll fail again but all the files have been extracted into the lockon.bat folder. Copy over all these files back one directory into the root of your lockon FC1.1 install. And run Lockon.exe. THIS WILL RESET EVERYTHING BACK TO DEFAULT (but it's worked for me) I emailed ED but they must be somewhat busy with the recent Black Shark news.... Interesting times....
luckybob9 Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 error code 2 might mean a corrupted file. try downloading it again and maybe from a different location Nevada map contributer EDM Modeling tools FAQ: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1418067&postcount=1 Seo libh a chairde is chanadh liom. Tez Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 I'm sorry but that's wrong. The real meaning of #2 error code of installation program is "installation not found". The corrupted file has error code #3. The common cause of patching problems is an installation (distributive) and a patch versions mismatch. There are several different versions of the patches. For the CD version there are 2 versions, one for the USA release and another for the UK, Germany and France release. When you login on the site and proceed to File -> Downloads page then notice the text colored in yellow on the right side. Such cases are very often and very annoying. People share or publicate the patches downloaded for themselves, without warnings about versions incompatibility. I advice to remove such shared patches or add the warnings.
