Gianky Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 I noticed that lately the Mk-83 bomb and its derivatives seems not to be part of new releases. Specifically, we didn't get the GBU-32 on the Hornet and the list of weapons for the Falcon doesn't include the 83 in any form. Is there a reason behind this, or is it just a coincidence and I'm seeing too much into it?
backspace340 Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 The USAF don't use the Mk83 variants on the F-16 apparently (they didn't on the A-10C either which is why that doesn't have any) - the Hornet's meant to get the GBU-32 later on.
Ironwulf Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 And on the hornet there's no high drag Mk-83 variant.

Thanks Backspace. So, it seems it's a mimicking of what's happening in real life. Does anyone have any idea why USAF is not using the 83s? It seems to me like the perfect jack-of-all-trades munition (at least in DCS). I'm quite fond of it.
