I don't want to post this as a bug because I can't find documentation on it, but the CDI seems wwwaaaayyyy too inaccurate for the F-16. I saw this even in Wag's navigation video.

I'm testing here at Bandar Abbas BND-78X and CDI center= 010M(From). If I turn to full right CDI deflection the course is 055M(From). Full left deflection = 325M(From). Some quick math determines 45 degrees of CDI deflection (22.5 degrees per "dot").. which is substantially more than civilian VOR systems (2 degrees). I find this extremely hard to believe, as it would mean the instrument is very inaccurate for navigation.

Looking at my FAA books, a typical civilian VOR indicator has full CDI deflection after only 12 degrees of course change (2 degrees per "dot"). TACAN is supposed to be more accurate than civilian VOR, not less!

But alas, I have no information on what the F-16C numbers are... just a request to have this looked at in more detail.

Thanks!

Yes this behavior is really unexpected and I think the same goes for the ILS needles wich seem very very sluggish as well.

This should be moved to bug section, just tested it and yes the TACAN behavior is off. The ILS is sluggish but it works and I am not sure if there is a fault with it without more testing

Just flew two approaches to Creech AFB ILS 08 (ICRR) and CDI (and HUD) indications appear to be correct.

Only appears to apply to NAV and TCN. Also I've noticed that you turn off ILS reception if you completely turn off the ILS Identification volume.:megalol:
