Gents

I noticed an immense drop in framerate setting the pixel density larger than 1.0

My specs are

i9-9900K

64GB Ram

GeForce RTX 2080 Ti

HTC Cosmos

Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + Pedals

(AB-detent Mod, Stick extension Mod)

HTC Cosmos VR

Track IR

----------

Intel i9-9900K

64GB Ram

GeForce RTX 2080 Ti

Try using the Steam Super sampling. Its a bit more efficient.

New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, HP Reverb (formermly CV1)

Old-N-busted: i7 4720HQ ~3.5GHZ, +32GB DDR3 + Nvidia GTX980m (4GB VRAM) :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, Rift CV1 (yes really).

are you sure?

shouldn't it be technically the same? i mean steamVR does not do any rendering, but should just "ask" dcs to render in the set resolution.

maybe steamVR and dcs use different multipliers for the actual value?

I'm not 100% sure, but multiple people have reported the same.

But in general people report better performance for steamVR. Note though steam VR SS is not at the same level as DCS PD (higher). So like 1.2 PD DCS does not equal 120% Steam VR, you'd need 140% or so IIRC. Beacause DCS PD multiples each axis, while steam VR multiplies total pixels.

The other thing is DCS PD affects draw distances for objects while SteamVR SS doesn't seem to.

thanks I notice big differences. Steam SS is indeed running smoother
