Hey guys, I have a recent issue where when I load in, my view is no longer center in the cockpit but over to the left and lower so that my head is in front of the left side instrument panel.

Hitting num key 5 (or the button I have binded) does not reset the view, so what I have to do is use right-ctrl + right-shift and the various num keys to move my head to the correct center position. It literally started happening two days ago. It is the same ever since.

Any ideas how a can return my VR view to the center? "Num0 - RAlt" / Save Cockpit Angle doesn't work, as pointed out in another thread.

Thanks

Len

Use these keys to fix your default view:

Move your camera inside the cockpit:

"Num/ - RCtrl - RShift" Cockpit Camera Move Back

"Num5 - RCtrl - RShift" Cockpit Camera Move Center

"Num2 - RCtrl - RShift" Cockpit Camera Move Down

"Num* - RCtrl - RShift" Cockpit Camera Move Forward

"Num4 - RCtrl - RShift" Cockpit Camera Move Left

"Num6 - RCtrl - RShift" Cockpit Camera Move Right

"Num8 - RCtrl - RShift" Cockpit Camera Move Up

"Num/" FOV- aka Zoom-in

"Num*" FOV+ aka Zoom-out

"NumEnter" Default FOV aka Zoom

Then once you have a good view setting:

"Num0 - RAlt" Save Cockpit Angle

GTFreeFlyer - thanks, yep I got that covered but the issue is I start uncentered and pressing VR recenter puts me back in the uncentered starting place.

Speedywrx - thanks, but I can't seem to get "Num0 - RAlt" Save Cockpit Angle, to save the angle! I hit the keys at the same time. I'm wondering what else am I missing...

That is strange. I rarely ever start in the center because I’m not typically sitting straight in my chair when the sim loads up. Once I’m in the cockpit I position myself in my chair and then recenter the view. Never had issues with it. I’ll be watching for an answer. Now I’m curious.

This happened to me today. We switched missions on our squad server and when I loaded in to the new mission my face was against the hud. I change the default keystrokes for cockpit camera view to the arrow keys on the keyboard and they've always worked but today they did not. So I went into settings and pressed the arrow keys and it changed to cockpit camera move up, down, forward and back like it should. However, when I went back into the jet they weren't working. Even after I did a repair it didn't seem to fix it. Then I decided to use RCNTRL RSHFT 4 and 6 to move side to side and that worked. Then all of a sudden the arrow keys worked again........ Weird..

Thanks guys. This problem exists with the F-16. When I flew the Tomcat last night before retiring for the evening, it worked fine. I'll do some more testing as I'm now leaning towards this being a Viper issue.

I had that same issue once with the Fw-190D where my view was out to the left, impossible to recenter it. Turns out I had something checked in the DCS settings that was called "Save User Snap Views" (or similar, forgot the exact name); once I unchecked that, the cockpit was centered again for me.

Yep, happened in the 16 to me. I didn't check if it happened in another jet. It's working fine now though.
