LazyBoot Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 Am I blind, or is the RWR missing indications for locks? Flew a mission today and noticed that while I was getting sounds for being locked, I had no symbols or anything showing what was locking me
Frederf Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 It should be purely audio-based. Depending on the diamond mode it should set the diamond (priority contact, audio source) to the threat that is locking you. The symbol might be positioned closer to the center of the threat display if the RWR deems that locking you is an elevation of threat level. But all in all the sounds are all the visual indication you get. As far as I'm aware that's accurate.
LazyBoot Posted November 11, 2019 Author Posted November 11, 2019 That seems highly weird to me... No way at all to tell the direction I'm getting locked from?! Or if multiple things are locking?!
Frederf Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 Diamond = audio source (except new guy audio) so look where the diamonded contact is for direction. Multiple locks I don't think so. Audio source is priority contact. There might be elevated threat levels from unheard locks positioning other contacts more toward the inner ring but that's not a definite method.
LazyBoot Posted November 11, 2019 Author Posted November 11, 2019 This sounds highly improbable to me, even the F5 and F14 have proper lock indicators for more than a single RWR contact
Haukka81 Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 You have lock indicator in real F-16 , our dcs is wip Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Oculus CV1, Odyssey, Pimax 5k+ (i5 8400, 24gb ddr4 3000mhz, 1080Ti OC ) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
