[NO BUG]Issue with the ASC Refuiling Mode

Good Day ED,

 

 

Here is the track with the issue of Autothrust Refueling Mode, after extend the refuiling boom and contact the tanker for pre-contact i can't Autothrust, it just either throttle or slower it's like you only can fly with manual speed.

Not sure if Auto thrust should be used with the probe out, and I cannot find a ref. in the manual. I will ask the team for clarification. Thanks

Thx for reply, perhaps i do something wrong, but i thought it would be used when the probe is extended cause other you can't see the tankers speed if i'm correct?

You don't need to see the tanker's speed - you fly this visually, moving the throttle so that in your view, the tanker stays in one place. If you see motion, you correct it yourself. You just have to practice so you can make the smallest throttle movement possible to fix the situation.

From what I could find auto thrust should not be used when refuelling, and refuelling mode only adjust's pitch and roll.

 

Refuelling Mode

When performing refuelling, it is recommended turn on a special REFUELLING mode control system [RCTRL-R], in which the aircraft is controlled by position-based control profile.

This profile facilitates precise piloting around the tanker. Responsibility zone is 5 degrees in pitch and 10 degrees on the roll. Outside the zone the aircraft is operated according to the standard law.

Hello BIGNEWY,

 

 

Maybe i was tired when tired refueling and mixed the ASC Refueling Mode and Autothrust which i saw was completely diffrent action :doh:, u can using Autothrust but the command is J and not ASC that i've thought. According to Grim Reapers and those other that flying with him, consider that u can u use autothrust with the probe extended

okey i will test it again, theoretically ASC refueling mode is for pitch & roll before u extended refueling boom, so that is more like an stabilizer mode?

yes stabilises the axis zone 5 degrees in pitch and 10 degrees on the roll

Hi

 

Thank you for reminding me.

 

I have taken a look this morning and I don't see any bug.

 

I am refuelling and using autothrust it works with the fuel probe out.

 

Once you reach a speed you can keep up with the tanker engage auto thrust and then use the increase or decrease switch to lower or increase speed.
