I recently built a new system, one part of that system was not upgraded however, the GPU.

I run my graphics settings the same in VR as on my monitor, effectively it costs me half the FPS with VR with my settings as it does when I use the preset VR settings, so with preset VR settings I was seeing around 80fps, and skinny on the detail as we know, with my settings around 40fps, this could sometimes drop to 25fps over Dubai or something like that, but mostly it was steady around the mid 30's and up to 40fps, playable and with decent visual settings.

I was running the following......

RIFT S

Intel 9700k

RTX2060 FE

Gigabyte Aorus Pro Motherboard

64gb Corsair Vengence DDR4 3000mhz @3200mhz

So a thoroughly decent enough spec, but slightly hobbled by the GPU.

Today I received the Gigabyte Aorus 2080ti 11gb OC Extreme, basically it has doubled my FPS in VR mode......using my desktop settings flying over Dubai I am seeing the lowest 40fps and flying around in general a very very solid 80fps......thoroughly decent upgrade, and a much more fitting GPU for the rest of the spec.

I had hesitated after reading about the 2080 and having heard a little from people I know, thankfully I had decided I need the match the GPU with the rest of the spec and took a punt anyway, glad I did !!, the colours and quality somehow look better in VR on this GPU, not sure how that is possible but hey, I am not complaining :D :pilotfly:

Glad to hear of your upgrade...unfortunately here in Canada we pay 1800.00 + 13% tax for beauty like that:(

I'm doing ok with my 1080 @ 45fps.

Yup I hear you, I can only afford it because I found one at a good price, and financed it over several payments.

NZXT drops around 10fps average, both runs done with same graphics values, one in VR and one in non VR mode in a set mission for FPS testing etc......
