FlyBoyd Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 Gents, So I have been trying to get my desktop and my laptop to connect to each other. Here is what I have done so far: 1. Setup a separate account with different login 2. Bought separate modules (only the two seat versions for my laptop) 3. Enabled the port 10308 in my router 4. Started the server on my desktop This is where I run into problems. I cannot find the server on my laptop nor can I connect to the desktop using just the IP. I did notice that when I start a server on either the desktop or laptop it is using the same address, I don't know if this is the issue or not, but something isn't right. When I look in my router settings the Desktop and Laptop have two separate IP's (not the same IP that the server is using though). Also when a buddy starts a server I can join with my desktop but it will not let me join with the laptop. This also happens from laptop to desktop, but I'm just trying to keep it simple to find the solution. I am using an Orbi router for the internet and both computers are hardwired into the router. Any ideas??? Rudel_chw Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 You need to assign a fixed local IP address to your Server PC and then enable a port forward rule on your Router, to direct traffic of the port 10308 to the local IP of your Server. No config needed on the laptop client. Rudel_chw Posted December 11, 2019 Posted December 11, 2019 Do you know how to do that on an ORBI router? No, sorry, my router is an apple unit ... but the manual of your router should show how to do a port forward.
