CptTangerine Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 Hi I have just upgraded my Win 7 install to Win 10 and have had a number of weird things happen. The latest is that when I play a mission there is a strange distortion that comes and goes. It basically makes it look as though the headset is filled with water or has oil flowing over the lenses. I have mostly played UH-1 and it most notably affects the area around the rotors. The clouds through the rotors are very badly affected and one of the rotor tips looks like it's melting every time it passes. There is a general effect over the landscape, although not nearly as bad. I tried turning down the PD from 2.0 to 1.4 and this has helped but it's still very noticeable. I didn't have this problem at all with Win 7. Any thoughts on how to fix this would be much appreciated. Cheers! CptTangerine Posted December 10, 2019 Author Posted December 10, 2019 Thanks. I'll give that a go. CPU: Intel Core i5 4590 3.3GHz, RAM: 32GB HyperX Fury 1600MHz DDR3, GFX: EVGA GTX 1080, OS: Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, Joy: TM Warthog, Peds: CH Pro Pedals, TrackIR3, VR: Vive
CptTangerine Posted December 13, 2019 Author Posted December 13, 2019 Finally got to test this out and I have found that the blurring effect is definitely better with AR off but it is still there a bit. It seems to be worst around placed items, in particular around the FARP that I have placed in the Normandy map (that I use for general purpose heli practice). Any other suggestions to get rid of it altogether? Cheers! CptTangerine Posted December 14, 2019 Author Posted December 14, 2019 Hi I found the culprit - it was the motion smoothing. I turned that off and, so far, the motion still seems smooth but the distortion is completely gone. Thanks for all your suggestions!
