Pikey Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 Hi this is a changed behaviour, therefore an indication of if it is a bug or a deliberate change would be helpful so we can plan accordingly. An aircraft is now tied to its starting point when spawning on the ramp and the DCS engine no longer attempts to find a free parking spot when activating a late activated group. There is no "Auto" for the parking spot in a group template. This means that spawning aircraft at the ramp using the same "group template" twice in succession will result in the engine now spawning them one on top of each other. Where this has an impact is in missions using a type of spawn via addGroup (DCS API), Mist, or Moose where the same template is used. Could be quite widespread. For Moose, it affects some modules like AI_Balancer and two spawn methods: Respawn and SpawnScheduled which will happily spawn aircraft inside of themselves continually and cause explosions. The previous workings would allow for the same template to be resused, check the parking set to auto and look for a free spot. It's been this way for about a month but I dont know exactly the patch where this changed. I'm quite concerned about Carriers mostly, since parking spots are tight there and thus spawning on a carrier becomes even harder. Given these things usually have low priority my only real ask is if it is likely to stay this way for more than a few months - ED might use some of these for campaigns or it be needed for Supercarrier and have to fix it, or it might have no impact for their business that anyone really cares about, I don't really know (I do know that some older missions have broken for myself and others, but that is not important, I'm seeking clarification so I can work around it in the future and help people using moose for scripting better). From time to time it hasn't worked as expected on certain maps or even certain airbases, but a quick test shows it is still functional.
