LANTIRN losing ground track after Point Track?

I keep having an issue where the LANTIRN pod will suddenly lose all ground stabilization after point track. I haven't narrowed down the cause, but typically, I'll point track a target, drop bombs, laser latch, then as I'm cycling zoom modes/BHOT/WHOT it will suddenly lose ground stabilization and start snow plowing across the ground, of course spoiling my bomb's targeting.
