Hi,

A C-17 was placed as a static object. At 20 NM to the side of the C-17 the TGP was used to lock the target for the 6-500 glide bomb.

The TGP was in POINT TRACK.

A designated mark point was created then copied to waypoint 36.

The bomb was configured and set. It was released and hit the target.

Or not.

It blew up inside the model, but did not hit at all.

I went AG guns and destroyed it.

How can the bomb detonate yet still miss?

Debrief showed the bomb release but not hit anything.

Can something be done with the blast radius?

I think I read another thread about this weapon. I now understand the problem: the blast radius needs increasing.

The JF-17 is not better than the F-16; it's different. It's how you fly that counts.

Did you arm the fuzes?

can you try lobbing it again in the same scenario and after the impact check the f10 map? if the unit was hit at all it's healthbar would show yellow, maybe you hit the ground near it or something like that?

also, did you use the he munition? i've had problems in the past hiting stuff with it - the reason was i kept forgetting to set up the elevation, so the munition would for example detonate under a bridge instead of on the bridge etc, try adding another 10ft to your elevation in the ufcp (bottom row)

Yes, otherwise it would not have exploded. The problem is the target was completely undamaged afterwards, despite the bomb detonating within the target visual model.

Interesting question. I did not modify the altitude, but being a designated waypoint from the TGP it should be correct regarding altitude.

The bomb appeared to hit in the correct place.

It also preferentially locks certain static objects with towers (comm bunkers). Even when not in LOS of the pod.
