Problem :

With potar button (like the Z axis on some sticks) I can't use it for the T6_Axis: Antenna Elevation.

Indeed, if I move the cursor, the antenna cursor will move just as much. BUT it will necessarily return to 0, since the button returns to 0, like this :

Solution :

Make an option who ignores the return of the joystick to the 0 of the axis.

An exemple :

I turn Z axis to the right = Antenna up to X % (for exemple 50%)

Return to 0 = Antenna stays at 50%

If I turn the Z axe in the other direction = Antenna down at 25% or -30% (or anyway).

The more I turn the stick on the axe, et the faster the antenna up/down...

Like the zoom! Camera zoom of the missiles/pods works like this with the Z axis. (

except for the zoom speed)

Thanks!

IMO, the axis perform exactly what it should to be (physical input return zero -> DX axis input as zero), no bugs here.

What U want may be the "relative axis" mode, U can do the same by T.A.R.E.T or something like that to define your axis as a "relative axis"(I forget whether U can do this or not inside DCS). Or U can just define the axis as key input which will not return to ZERO.

[Edit] Won't work with camera zoom too.

Yep, I know it's not a "bug" but I think it's important to make this option because my joystick I use for moving the TDC has no program like TARGET to use with it.

Using axis like a key is pretty laggy... (slow, not smooth)

And so If I use an absolute axis (like a normal knob), if I zoom with the pod (to the max for exemple) and I want to use the camera of a missile on another MFD, the zoom of this missile change immediately at the axis position to the max... because knob was to the max.

With a "retourn to 0" knob, don't have this problem.

How is the knob used on the real hotas?

It's not easy to use like this.

Some said that the real Knob (with absolute axis) may have auto recenter functionality on some A/C , when you release the knob, it will auto return to 0.

I could be wrong but I don't think they use an absolute axis with a knob who auto return to 0. Otherwise they are forced to keep their finger on the knob in a specific position all the time to have the "good" antenna height ...

Real pilots don't necessarily need to have their radar turned on and search the whole airspace all the time. They have AWACS GCI & DL.
