I have a question for the most squadrons.

 

First I’ve seen some squadrons require engine startup clearance from ground where others don’t or is that common for dcs squadrons?

 

Second you do require clearance before taxi correct?

 

I know in the civilian world at controlled airfields clearance for both is required from my research. I also believe that the usaf requires clearance for both also but have no hard proof.

We don’t do either in mine. We announce if we are on others servers (like a untowered airport). Most of the time we do squadron internal or invite only missions so if we have someone that wants to do tower/awacs/whatever then amazing. But those people are few and far between.

 

On our own server we will call taking active and clear.

I’m thinking of taking the lvl 1 aic course from dcs academy but I don’t have a squadron to work for. When do you fly?
