parxuk Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 As I continue to learn DCS and the Hornet I am begining to try to play more advanced missions and campaigns and am being tasked with hitting waypoints at specific times. The last mission I did had 10 waypoints, each with a specific time on target. I watched the grim reapers youtube video so knew how to set a TOT, but had hoped to be able to set a TOT for each of the waypoints that had a corresponding TOT for each within the mission briefing, however from my limited experience, it seemed like I could only set 1 TOT, so had to set that for the next waypoint, then as i hit that one then had to go back in to the HSI > data page and then add the next TOT for the next WP. Is that correct, or is there a way to set TOTs for each individual waypoint? Harker Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 TOT is only for your target waypoint, you can't set it up for multiple ones. But if you follow the flight plan and fly with the desired ground speed, I found that you'll hit your time for the other waypoints as well (more or less), assuming the flight plan is well designed in the first place. Obviously this won't work if you are supposed to go to WP2 with 300 knots and then use full AB for WP3. The vCVW-17 is looking for Hornet and Tomcat pilots and RIOs. Join the vCVW-17 Discord. parxuk Posted January 4, 2020 Author Posted January 4, 2020 Thanks for that. I had assumed that when setting the TOT it would calculate from current position direct to the waypoint the TOT was set against. Good to know that it should take in to account the correct route as dictated by the flight plan/waypoints. Regards I remember reading in the NATOPS manual that the groundspeed calculation will take the in-between waypoints into account if AUTO is selected, but I tried it in DCS yesterday and whether I had AUTO boxed or not, I didn't notice a difference.
