I am just barely into BVR w jester. Why can’t I get a Phoenix off the rail unless I switch from Normal to STP on missile mode selector? Is that always necessary or track dependent?

Missiles prepped and master arm on. Phoenix selected and in a to a mode?

Thanks

Make sure Jester has them designated as hostiles AND they stay in the cone at all times (while in TWS mode)

Though it seems you are interfering with jester somehow. If you leave the Rio pit be, jester should configure everything as needed.

I am not really proficient as a rio but afaik and as far as my quick manual search showed, the only STP option in the rio seat is for a/g delivery

Edit:

I think I am getting closer. I never touch the mode/stp or missile mode button ever. WCS should take care of everything. Do you have a bit more information on your procedure? Hot/cold/ manual/auto start, groundstrike before air engagement? What is the situation you experience that problem?
