Dumb question: Why isn't Stennis listed in ingame Encyclopedia?

CVN70 Carl Vinson is. Stennis selectable in ME.

 

I look through Encyclopedia sometimes to look for what 'stuff' exists. Now if a whole 100,000+ ton carrier is lost, what other 'stuff' could be missing?

Eh the encyclopedia is a bit broken left-right and centre, either with stuff missing or some information incomplete -mostly due to neglect probably.

 

If you want to look at stuff like you would in the encyclopedia, you can use the modelviewer, which is located in the DCS World main installation folder, within bin (I think it's ModelViewer2.exe). Simply open it up and click load model.

 

A large number of the models are located within Bazar -> World -> Shapes

 

For modules they're located under CoreMods -> aircraft -> aircraft name (e.g FA-18C) -> Shapes

 

For things like the Stennis and new assets (that aren't aircraft) it's CoreMods -> tech -> xxxx (e.g John C. Stennis) -> Shapes

 

 

The model viewer's good in that it also lets you play with the various animations, you'll also be able to see that stuff yet to be implemented is already modelled, the AGM-84H SLAM-ER, ATFLIR, Mk-40, SA-5 (missiles and boosters, launcher and a RADAR present last time I checked), Ropucha-I LST etc... Their 3D models, textures and animations are actually complete if not very close to being completed.
