Sorry for the dumb question but I am trying to set up my VR (HP Reverb), I have the Steam products installed and when I go to launch DCS, the game comes up on my monitor (mid third of screen) but doesnt get displayed through the HP Reverb headsets. If I move my headsets or "wake it up" (as SteamVR suggests) then the Mixed Reality Portal displays in headsets (the VR "House") and I dont know how to transition to DCS. When I move my headsets around, the view that is on my monitor moves as well. So it seems everything is synched correctly, I just cant get the view to display in the headsets. Any suggestions? I'm sure its probably a check mark or two I missed but any help is greatly appreciated, Thanks!

This may be a dumb answer, but I assume you've enabled VR in the DCS settings in-game?

Alternatively try using Skatezilla's excellent DCS Updater utility, it has buttons to launch DCS with VR On or VR Off, which takes some of the hassle out of launching with VR.

Just another question to start with the simplest things first. Do you have both SteamVR and Steam VR for WMR installed?

I think I got it figured out. Unfortunately, I cant say exactly what fixed it. I reinstalled the three software (MRP, Steam MR, and Steam VR) and maybe I installed them in a different order but it seems to be working now. BTW, I have a Strix RTX 2070 which includes 2 Display Ports 1.4, 2 HDMI ports and a USB-C port. I had the main monitor (34" 1440P) in one DP and the VR connected to other DP with my side monitor (1080P) using a HDMI. I thought maybe I couldn't use both DP at the same time but that isn't the case. Also, I learned that you cant power VR sets through the USB-C because that port doesnt provide the 3.3V needed to run a VR headset, just FYI for you if wondering.

Now I am trying to tweak everything. I didnt realize the difference between playing in game and watching streamers who fly DCS and you see their monitor. In game its like you are in some "holographic" environment (which is very cool BTW and obviously 3D) but the clarity isnt like if you are watching in 2D on a monitor.

Is there tweaks I can set that will make the in headset view look more like a monitor?

With the Reverb, I can read the dials and knobs but I have to look hard or get closer. I'm also wondering if dogfighting is much harder in VR?

Set pd in Dcs to 1.2 or 1.3 instead of 1.0. I couldn’t read the cockpit of the f16. Now its cristal clear. Lower other settings to get proper fps to play Dcs comfortable. :D pd is pixeldensity

Short answer - nope. You either love the immersion and deal with the shortcomings of VR, or you give up VR's immersion for the detail of 2D.

Use 200% SuperSampling in SteamVR and Motionreprojection on Motionvector, so you will See everything.
