Are there any plans to increase the variety of rocket armament in V1.1?

There is a very wide variety of warheads (Thermobaric, blast frgamentation, fragmentation, heat, He etc.) in the Russian arsenal.

I can only assume that more than one type of ammunition can be carried in the same pod, will this be modeled?

It should be noted that some of these are not in service and some are research weapons:

Unguided rocket S-5 (S-5 ,S-5I ,S-5K ,S-5KO ,S-5KP ,S-5M ,S-5MO ,S-5O ,S-5P ,S-5S)

Unguided rocket S-8 (S-8A ,S-8B ,S-8BM ,S-8D ,S-8DM ,S-8KOM ,S-8M ,S-8O ,S-8OF ,S-8M ,S-8PM ,S-8T)

Unguided rocket S-13 (S-13D ,S-13OF ,S-13T)

Do they produce different visual effects?

Those big Russian rockets are GREAT!!!

Also have the blast radii for big HE weapons been investigated/increased? Dropping 2000lb'ers on trucks you seem to have to get ridiculously close ... I though the bast radii for these was measureed in 100's of ft for soft skin vehicles.

Great idea

Also the RBK bombs have various filling:

ZAB-2.5: incendiary bomblet

ZAB-1E: incendiary bomblet

SPBE-D SFW: anti-tank smart bomblet

SPBE: anti-tank IR bomblet

BetAB: airfield cratering bomblet

OKT-1.5: incendiary or chemical bomblet

AO-2.5: fragmentation bomblet

AO-2.5 RTM: anti-personnel/material bomblet

AO-1SCh: fragmentation bomblet

PTAB-1M: anti-tank bomblet

PTAB-2.5: anti-tank bomblet

ShOAB-0.5: anti-personnel bomblet

PFM-1: anti-personnel minelet

The problem is that the damage model isn't there to support each different warhead type, or so it seems, anyway.

In 1.1 we shall simulate concrete-piercing and hollow charge effects.

It concerns to concrete-piercing bombs and hollow charge anti-armor ammunition.

For example, if anti-armor missile like “Vikhr” direct hit in the IFV it can be struck but if the missile hit near vehicle at least in 1 m or less the damage will not be caused to vehicle.

In the future, I think, we shall make night lighting and countermeasures (chaff-flare) rockets.

That's very nice Chizh!

What about cluster munitions? Anyplans on modelling things like the guided sub-munitions in the CBU-97?

Or possibly modelling damage in such a way that you can't drop a building with just a couple CBU's?

Thanks Chizh, glad to hear this area is getting attention ...I just love the shockwave modelling you get from an explosion currently!!

Thats good news at all!

Maybe (i think) it is enough to make 2 different type of the S-5 and the S-8 rockets.

A fragamention one and an armor-piercing one.

You can use the fragamention ones well against "soft" targets like trucks or IFVs but almost ineffective against "hard" targets like tanks and ships.

The armor-piercing ones, you can use against tanks and ships ,but it have no blast damage.

I think this 2 types of unguided rockets would we use 90% of our missions ,if we get the whole S-5 and S-8 family modelled. So it is enough to modell this ones.

(Sorry for my english, i hope you understand my text  )

Mechanist (Btw.-Your english is quite good).

I agree that we do not need them all modeled. But it would be nice to see at least three basic types: Armour-piercing (for AFVs), Fragmentation (for soft targets), High explosive (against buildings).

It would be ideal if we can someday have multiple types of rockets in the same pod. Does anyone know if it is possible to select and fire different tubes with Russian rocket pods?

First of all: Thanks Avimimus

Yeah! The High explosive rockets would be fun at all!

But the armor-piercing and the fragamention rocket would be the workhorse of the unguided rockets.

Yes it is possible.

The rocket blocks have a predetermined sequence of rocket fireing.

You just have to fill the blocks with different type of rockets. Than you can fire for example 5 signal than 10 fragamention than 5 AP rockets from one block.

Interesting. I suppose by selecting different pods as well you could choose which order to fire them.
