I'm using the Index and I prefer to play using the index controllers. It works decently well but for some reason the AV-8B I just bought is the only aircraft I have where I cannot grip the joystick or throttle. Any ideas? I also have the Mi-8, Huey, and A10C which all work fine, buttons & joystick. The AV-8B the buttons work fine but just not throttle/joystick.

If it turns out the aircraft just straight up doesn't work with VR controllers at all, does anyone know of any list for aircraft that do or don't work? Again, this is the first one I've bought that doesn't.

It might require the implementation to the virtual HOTAS so you can grab them with your VR controllers.

I am waiting that someone would come up with a DCS optimized VR controller that one could just take with them. It would have two mini-sticks and bunch extra buttons.

I just bought the F/A 18 and it works fine too. Really would like to know why the harrier doesn't. What confuses me is that even the aircraft that don't have clickable cockpits works fine, well, you can control the aircraft with VR hands at least.

I agree the experience should be consistent... But i am intrigued as to why you would want to, the resulting loss of fidelity of control would be startling, and that your hands are captured by the vr controllers...doesn't that mean you have to find a different way of manipulating the buttons on the hotas?

That is definitely a good point, however, I still have a decent amount of buttons I can bind to both individual controllers (such as the weapon selector thing on the joystick of the FA18) but it's not by any means a perfect experience. If we were allowed to bind the A/B buttons in the controller as well as the touchpad (separate from the stick) that would go even further, but DCS doesn't allow that unfortunately. So as it is it works just 'well enough'.
