Hello

So, i finally signed up in the forums as it takes time to get detailed answer on reddit

Wanting to migrate from Steam to Standalone Open Beta to get the Supercarrier, but at the same time, not wanting to download the whole thing with the modules again, I searched a bit online, and it was pretty straight forward.

Imported all steam licenses from the profile, they were detected and bound successfully

Copied the files from steam to the install location created by the standalone installer, ran repair, and voila.. it's working

Except for one thing... well, actually two things

There is no purchased modules detected when signed in. It's showing only NTTR. Everything else is locked and saying "Buy"

Double check, yea it's my account alright... I'm logged in. It's showing my name on the top.

Repair asked me to move extra files to a folder called _backup.000 which I did (those files belonged to steam, and include the modules, they're 70gb)

Problem is, no purchases detected. I own nothing.

I never used Standalone before, but i figured from youtube videos, to the top, there is supposed to be a module manager, right next to the sign out and settings buttons, correct?

Well I don't have that... for me, it's like steam

Could that be because i copied everything from Steam? yea, i guess so

I copy everything from the backup folder back to root, and launch run.exe, and it starts... with my purchases... except, it launches through steam now, and no module manager (so not standalone)

Take them away, be standalone, have no purchases detected and asked to buy

So now, what should i delete and repair again to get things sorted without having to download 110gb again as i'm on limited connection and this will cost me the price of a module :)

Ran repair again, it removed said files, installed its own (yay!), but none of my purchases are detected except for Nevada (what?), and still no module manager in the interface

How can i get this to be standalone?

sorry for all that... but truly i can't afford downloading 100gb now and i really want the supercarrier in the presale

Edit: Just got the Supercarrier... as expected, the SU-33 is not there.... none of my purchases are there, nor the module manager

I really really don't want to download everything again lol .... help me please

Edit 3: Got a PM from a kind user... for those looking at the same issue... go into config folder in root directory... and edit the retail.cfg file with notepad. Change from "Steam" to "ED"

It will even detect copy over the modules from steam for you

Thanks a lot

Well I did the same thing for the same reason a couple of days ago, but I downloaded the whole game from the DCS servers again (the OpenBeta in my case). Because I already own a lot of modules I wanted to be smart, and copied my "config" folder from the Steam installation to the new installation so that I don't need to setup all the controls for all my modules again, and redo all my preferred in game settings. Guess what? No modules available, not even the module manager icon on the main menu. Then I found the "_backup.000" folder you mentioned, copied the config subfolder from inside "_backup.000" to the DCS main folder, and now the module manager icon appeared in the DCS main menu, that allowed me to redownload all my purchased modules, theaters etc. from the DCS servers. Best thing: The input configurations, my own missions etc. where all still there, because they are stored in my user profile inside the "Saved Games" folder. There was only one more glitch: The Steam version stores everything in a sub folder called "DCS World", even if you use the open beta version of DCS. The standalone version uses different folders for the stable and the beta version. So in case you use the DCS open beta you need to copy everything from "DCS World" to "DCS World OpenBeta" in "Saved Games".

P.S: I can see in your screenshot from the main menu, that you are also missing the module manager icon that would allow you to reinstall your modules. Same problem I was facing as stated above.

The supercarrier will most likely come as EA on steam as well so no need to panic.
