GunSlingerAUS Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 I finally got around to ordering the F-14 throttle overlay from TekCreations on the weekend. It's a slip-on metal plate that covers the A-10 commands with F-14 commands. As I've just grabbed the Hornet stick for the Warthog, I'd like to also get one custom-created for the Hornet. However, I have no idea which buttons I should assign to the TM WH Throttle - note that I have TrackIR5, VAICOM PRO and SRS. I can't find any profiles that have the Hornet throttle base mapped out, so would love to hear which buttons you think I should "set in steel" as it were? I'm guessing once the creator has made this initial design, it'll be available to the wider public. Harker Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 Honestly, there's no right answer. Do you want to have it as close to the real throttle quadrant as possible or set up the most commonly used switches? I went for the latter and I've set up: Eng Fuel Flow R: Master Arm (custom keybind) ON/OFF Eng Fuel Flow L: AAR switch Forward/OFF Eng Oper R: Gear Up/Down Eng Oper L: Hook Up/Down APU: APU start Friction level: JHMCS brightness L/G WRN Silcence: CMS Slap switch EAC: Anti-ice ON/OFF RDR ALT: HUD declutter Lvl1/NORM Autopilot button: T/O Trim Autopilot select switch: DISP switch (3-pos) Flaps: Flaps (3-pos) Works for me, for now, but I haven't revised them in a long time. Maybe I should. The vCVW-17 is looking for Hornet and Tomcat pilots and RIOs. Join the vCVW-17 Discord. CBStu Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 I think you will need to start using the throttle and trying the different switches to see how they work. Then you can try to use them for different FA-18 functions. Some of the toggles are momentary while others are two position which will stay in either position. I have read here something about lua files and also about the program that comes w/ the throttle that can be used to modify how the switches interact w/ DCS but that is way beyond me.
