Pilot´s shadows in the cockpit lost from several updates back...

Does anyone know what happened to the pilot's shadows projected on the cockpit dome?

In previous versions both the Hornet and Tomcat were visible and gave an extraordinary immersion in virtual reality.

I observe while in the Tomcat as a pilot I can see the shadow of my RIO, but I can´t see mine. Curiously if I alternate to the position of the RIO then I don't see its shadow, but that of the pilot appears?!

I can´t see my shadow in the Hornet anymore. In this at least they fixed the shadow of the seat, that one season the headrest appeared hollow in its shadow.

Is there anyone who gets to see his shadow on the cockpit/canopy.

Sorry if this topic has already been reported, I remember a member has already told abaut it, but did not find its publication again.

However, in the projected shadow of my plane on the ground, I do see the pilot's body move...

Greetings and thank you

First of all, the F-14 doesn't feature a player body, so if you're controlling the pilot, there is not pilot rendered in the seat, thus no pilot shadow to be projected. The other seat gets a body, so there's a shadow. Same for RIO. And in general, you won't see a pilot's shadow if there isn't a physical pilot body rendered in the cockpit.

In the Hornet, for example, that a player pilot's body exists, I can see my body's shadow, but not my head's shadow, since the head doesn't exist in 1st person.

For a little while, maybe a year ago, we had head shadows in the Hornet as well and it was pretty cool, the head shadow would follow your head movement, tilt etc pretty accurately and it was very immersive. You'd even have a shadow for the full helmet, O2 tube and everything. That one has been gone for a while now.

The vCVW-17 is looking for Hornet and Tomcat pilots and RIOs. Join the vCVW-17 Discord.

... that's what I meant, to see the shadow of the helmet on the dome and on the controls according to the position of the sun.

In TOMCAT they also saw each other - or so I think I remember, even when there was no body modeling.

Regarding what you say about the F-14, it is logical...

A year ago about that? How does time go by when we have fun ?!

It would be good if they returned, for VR it was a plus in immersion!

Regards!
