killerquagmire Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 I know there was recently a thread on this, but I tried all the suggestions and the MAV bar just keeps searching. I checked the TDC depress button and it is assigned properly to my Hotas. Trigger boxed, laser appears to be firing, all systems armed, just no lock. I'm sure it's something simple. Track uploaded. hopefully you guys will see what I'm missing.Mav laser lock issue.trk
Cytarabine Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 Just checking you have the correct laser code? The TGP (and most JTACs) default to 1688 while the LMAV default is 1111.
flankerjun Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 i have watch your track, and find your problem 1、if you uncage the MAV firstly, you can find the MAV symbol is searching on HUD,you need to control the flight to make the TGT in MAV‘s searching range, then the MAV will automatically lock the target 2、another method is that you can mark the TGT firstly, then uncage the MAV,the MAV will automatically lock the target, here is my track, not perfect, but can show you the method.Mav laser lock issue-1.trkMav laser lock issue-2.trk A-10C Warthog,Flaming Cliffs 3,F-16C VIPER,F/A-18C HORNET,Super Carrier,AV-8B Night Attack V/STOL,Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight,Black Shark 2,SA342 Gazelle,UH-1H Huey,Persian Gulf Map,Combined Arms Intel i7-14700KF| Colorful iGame GeForce RTX 2070 AD Special OC GDDR6 8G | Acer PREDATOR 32g DDR5 6000MHZ | MSI PRO Z790A-MAX | Kingston KC3000 1T SSD M.2 | ST 12T HDD 7200RPM | AOC 2790PQU 27'' 4K |Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog PC

Once again the awesome DCS community rises to the occasion. That fixed my problem perfectly. Thank you Thank you!
Ziptie Posted February 4, 2020 Posted February 4, 2020 2、another method is that you can mark the TGT firstly, then uncage the MAV,the MAV will automatically lock the target, here is my track, not perfect, but can show you the method. You actually don't even have to uncage the maverick after you have designated a target via TGP, as when you SOI the maverick page - it will automatically uncage the seeker head. If you wanted to eliminate an additional step. I know there was recently a thread on this, but I tried all the suggestions and the MAV bar just keeps searching. To the OP, Assuming Maverick is cooled down, TGP is cooled down, Master ARM on, A/G mode selected, Maverick is selected and displaying seeker head image, LTD/R switch is in the ARM position, TRIG OSB has been depressed, laser codes match (Mav and TGP): TDC depress with TGP in PTRK mode on desired target. Depress gun trigger to fire the laser (make sure you are in parameters for slant range). SOI maverick display (the seeker head should uncage automatically). After weapon has been employed and hit target: Depress gun trigger to cease firing the laser. NWS to undesignate target. Repeat process.
