Johnsoir Posted February 12, 2020 Posted February 12, 2020 Hello All, New to the forum and relatively new to DCS. I recently picked up an Arduino to hopefully build a switch box for controls beyond my HOTAS. When doing a quick search I came across the DCS-BIOS and decided to install it. Unfortunately I can't see to get it connected to DCS though. The DCS connection page does not provide the check boxes as shown in the user manual. When doing some searching it also doesn't appear to have installed the DCS-BIOS log file as some other users had mentioned nor does the .msi file on the GitHub come with arduino library. I feel I am missing something? Has anyone else encountered this and had a fix for it?
Johnsoir Posted February 13, 2020 Author Posted February 13, 2020 As an update I went back and grabbed the DCSFlightpanels fork and moved the provided export.lua and DCS-Bios folders into the scripts folder. Now on the DCS-BIOS Hub I get a connection to the Virtual Cockpit, but it still won't connect to DCS:World
Rudel_chw Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 I feel I am missing something? Has anyone else encountered this and had a fix for it? I had a similar problem, turned out it was caused by my saved games folder not being on the C drive .. I moved it back to C and now it connects fine. For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB
Johnsoir Posted February 13, 2020 Author Posted February 13, 2020 Hmm. My saved games is on my C: drive but DCS world is not. Could this potentially be the issue as its not getting the correct path to the game? or does it only interact with the user/saved game/ files?
Johnsoir Posted February 19, 2020 Author Posted February 19, 2020 As a follow up to this if anyone is having similar issues: I ended up uninstalling absolutely everything relating to DCS on my computer and re-installing onto my main (C:) drive along with DCS-BIOS. From there I could get everything working very easily. I did have two previous mods/plugins installed which could have caused an issue but everything seems to be happy now.
tea_cypher Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 Ok seems like I have the same problem, but cant really install dcs on my primary drive:(

tea_cypher Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 Will play with install location see if that helps
No1sonuk Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 Having looked back at the thread, the OP seems to have installed the Flightpanels Fork scripts, but is trying to use the Hub fork connection screen - that won't work. They're different versions. Flightpanels is "harder" to connect, but is up to date with new modules. Hub hasn't been actively updated for quite some time.
