Gear indicator lights too bright at night

Is there a way to turn down the brightness of the gear indictor lights? they're dazzlingly bright when flying at night time, even without NVGs, or have I missed something?

The lights even dim are not realistic. Way to bright. Not really a wishlist item but a bug.
