Highwayman-Ed Posted March 1, 2020 Posted March 1, 2020 (edited) This is a mission that I put together after having such fun with the DCS F/A-18C River Run mission. The idea is the same, fly through all of the gates as quick as you can. Faster than 10 Minutes = A Grade Faster than 10 Minutes 30 seconds = B Grade Faster than 11 Minutes = C Grade Get the mission here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3308276/ Edited March 1, 2020 by Highwayman-Ed Intel i9-9900KF @5.2GHz MSI Z390 Gaming Pro Carbon 32GB G.Skill Trident Z DDR3200 RAM MSI RTX 2080 Ti Gaming X Trio 40" Panasonic TH-40DX600U @ 4K Pimax Vision 8K Plus / Oculus Rift CV1 / HTC Vive Gametrix JetSeat with SimShaker Windows 10 64 Bit Home Edition [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
manashttu Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 (edited) Love this mission. Thank you for sharing it. It is a fun exercise that demonstrates inertia and the effects of speed and AoA on turning and roll rates. And it nicely shows off DCS graphics and weather effects. I'm using it over and over to tune my stick and throttle movements, and to learn smooth, purposeful control. Having a start-finish timing aspect makes it perpetually replayable, too. In my sim racing days, it was fun and interesting to take different cars back to back to the same track to learn the power band and handling differences. Your mission nicely makes this possible for planes. I made copies of your mission for the F-15C and other planes (even did the P-51D--took 13 1/2 minutes). The F-15C is much more agile than it feels, I think because it's so smooth. Tried to replace the F-16C with the F-14B. However, having followed the exact procedure that worked to substitute other planes, when the mission loads, it ends up just showing a map and won't enter the cockpit. Do you or others more knowledgeable with the mission editor know why this might be? Thanks again for the cool mission. EDIT: Actually, turns out I had a corrupt F-14B. Repair fixed it. Works great in your mission (though--what a handful). Edited April 23, 2020 by manashttu Solved own problem.
