hi guys im wondering if someone can clarify something for me

*does dcs world use generic terrain texture tiles that are spread over the map randomly or does each square section of the map have its own texture tile?

ive been looking through the files and i found defaultlandtextures but this seems to be more just for F10 map. and i found more details texture tiles but only a small amount leaving me to believe those tiles are multiplied throughout the map.

what i am wanting to try to do is edit some tiles in set locations to include a dirt/grass runway for use with the yak52 and adding static objects and triggers in ME to create some cool field to field navigation missions.

any help would be appreciated and would allow me to stop filtering through 1000's of texture files :P

ps im aware of other mods that use objects as runways but would prefect a texture. thanks

It uses both - mostly generic tiles for fields and urban/village areas, mixed with some additional, individual textures within each airbase perimeter. I never edited any of them, however, so one of modders is needed to provide additional info.

Or download one of terrain mods and use it a as comparison reference. For example, with Mustang's mod you will only have 20 zips of vfstextures to investigate instead of 126 :D.
